Align Technology is looking for a creative and driven UX/UI Design Intern to join our team. As part of the group that’s transforming smiles and changing lives, interns play a vital role in driving our company’s innovation and growth. What sets this program apart from others?

You’ll join a community of interns and participate in events curated just for you, including skills workshops and intimate sessions with Executive leaders. Your manager will guide and support you through our individualized GROW Professional Development process, and your assigned mentor will provide day-to-day advice.

How long is the program?

The Internship Program runs from June to August 2025 and is based in San Jose , requiring in-office attendance three days per week during this period. Relocation assistance is not available.

In this role, you will…

As a UX/UI Design Intern , you will work on a project integral to the future of our organization. This experience is designed to provide meaningful, real-world exposure to the field of user experience design:

• Collaborate with senior designers on a variety of user-centered design (UCD) projects, including creating mockups and prototypes for key features and flows.
• Develop practical skills in translating user needs into intuitive and functional design solutions.
• Assist with user research activities such as preparing research materials, documenting feedback, and synthesizing insights from usability tests.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of design systems and style guides.
• Stay up-to-date with new design tools and emerging technologies, sharing insights with the team.
• Gain knowledge of accessibility standards and best practices.
• Participate in brainstorming sessions and rapid ideation, contributing fresh ideas and perspectives to the team.
• Support cross-functional collaboration with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders, enhancing your communication and teamwork skills.

This internship offers a unique opportunity to grow in a fast-paced, innovative environment with exposure to healthcare tech, patient care, and dental products.

In this role, you’ll need …

• A strong interest in user experience design and a passion for improving healthcare, particularly in the areas of patient care and dental products.
• Familiarity with design tools like Figma, and a willingness to explore new tools and technologies to enhance your design work.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present design ideas clearly, collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, and iterate quickly based on feedback.
• A proactive attitude with an eagerness to learn, adapt to new processes, and contribute fresh perspectives to the team.
• A desire to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, and a commitment to delivering user-centered solutions.
