REPAIR AND MAINTENANCE MANAGER JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB SUMMARY
The Repair and Maintenance Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of the janitorial department to ensure that all venues are cleaned and maintained in accordance with the Company management expectations. These duties include, but are not limited to: (1) Overseeing all aspects of the cleaning crews’ performance; (2) Doing a daily walk through of each and every venue to ensure all venues are properly cleaned on a daily basis; (2) creating and updating a daily repair and maintenance list, and updating the venue General Managers and the CEO on the status of all repair and maintenance projects; (3) coordinating all quarterly inspections and equipment cleaning to ensure all venues are in compliance with all health, safety and regulatory requirements; (4) working with the Human Resources Department to hire, train and schedule all janitorial employees, ensure the janitorial department complies with all wage and hour requirements, and manage all janitorial employee performance and conduct issues; and (5) performing any other duties as assigned by the CEO and venue General Managers.
REPAIR AND MAINTENANCE MANAGER ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee and manage all aspects of the janitorial department performance and the performance and conduct of each and every janitorial department employee
- Complete a daily walkthrough of all venues to ensure that the venues meet the cleanliness, maintenance and safety expectations of the Company CEO and venue General Managers
- Immediately report to the venue General Managers and the CEO any repair or maintenance issues that may create health or safety risks and ensure that all steps are taken to immediately remedy those health and safety risks
- Strictly enforce and comply with all regulatory, employment, wage and hour, and other legal compliance policies and procedures applicable to the janitorial department employees
- Work with the human resources department to enforce Company policies and procedures as they relate to the janitorial department and its employees
- Work with the human resource department to properly recruit, select, train, schedule, coach, counsel, discipline and, when necessary, terminate janitorial department employees
- Plan, monitor, appraise, and review job performance expectations for janitorial department employees, and review all compensation decisions with the human resources department
- Meet with all cleaning crews at least once per week to ensure all cleaning and maintenance tasks are properly performed and are performed in timely and efficient manner
- Be responsible for ensuring all inspections of fire extinguishers and Ansul systems are completed in compliance with all regulatory and life and safety requirements
- Coordinate all quarterly grease trap cleanings and certifications
- Oversee the quarterly maintenance and replacement of all AC filters
- Coordinate quarterly hood cleanings
- Check with the venues’ management teams, including reviewing the venue manager daily logs, for needed repairs
- Maintain and repair and maintenance log and provide maintenance updates for all venues on a daily basis
- Exhibit consistently dependable, reliable, punctual, and trustworthy conduct
- Ensure the cleaning and maintenance of venues includes the repairing/replacing of lightbulbs, bathroom and kitchen leaks, damaged furniture and fixtures
- Timely report any repair needs to the proper parties if the repair work is beyond the expertise of the cleaning and maintenance department
REPAIR AND MAINTENANCE MANAGER SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITY
- Knowledge of Teamwork timekeeping system
- Ability to read, write and speak the English language to interact with coworkers, guests, and vendors
- Good verbal communication skills
- Maintain a professional image and demeanor at all times
- Ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy
- Ability to work under pressure and professionally deal with stressful situations
- Must have plumbing experience
- Must have basic maintenance skills
- General knowledge of machines and basic hand and power tools
- Must be available after hours for emergencies that may hinder business operations
- Work schedule varies and may include working on holidays and weekends
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
Education
High School Diploma or Trade School work preferred
Experience
Minimum of five years of maintenance experience
Age
Must be at least 21 years old
Licenses or Certificates
CPR certification and/or First Aid training preferred
GROOMING
All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance in accordance with the Company’s grooming standards.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING ENVIRONMENT
- Must be able to work in an environment with constantly elevated temperatures
- Must be able to work and move quickly in a tight-space environment in a safe manner without disrupting other employees
- Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.

COMPENSATION $20.00- $30.00 PER HOUR BASED ON EXPERIENCE
