Rate: $40 per hour, 10-15 hours per week ($31,200 maximum per year)
Overview:
We are looking for a dynamic and organized Fundraising Events Officer to join our remote team. This part-time contract position is pivotal in identifying and organizing fundraising events, with a special focus on our end of year and Ramadan campaigns. You will work closely with our communications, media, and partnerships teams to ensure the success of our events.
Key Responsibilities:
- Event Coordination: Identify and schedule fundraising events at suitable community venues, such as mosques, community centers, and other strategic locations.
- End of Year and Ramadan Fundraising: Concentrate on securing event opportunities and partnerships to enhance fundraising efforts during these critical periods.
- Relationship Building: Develop and maintain strong relationships with event organizers, community leaders, and potential partners to support successful fundraising events.
- Event Planning Support: Assist with the logistical and planning aspects of events, including coordinating materials, speakers, and promotional activities in collaboration with the communications team.
- Tracking and Reporting: Keep detailed records of event information, contacts, and outcomes, and provide the Director of Communications with regular progress updates and information on new opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years' experience in event planning, fundraising, or nonprofit development, with a focus on community engagement and outreach.
- Skills: Exceptional organizational and project management skills; strong communication and relationship-building abilities; familiarity with community fundraising, particularly within Muslim communities, is preferred.
- Availability: Ability to commit to 10-15 hours per week, with flexibility for evening or weekend events when necessary.
