Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated individual for a key role in our team, responsible for accurately abstracting provider services into billable codes from medical documentation. This role adheres strictly to the coding ethics of relevant professional bodies such as AAPC, AHIMA, and NAMAS, alongside payer guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

Accurately abstract provider services into billable codes (CPT, HCPCS, & ICD-10) from medical documentation, ensuring compliance with AAPC, AHIMA, and NAMAS standards.
Post and reconcile charges daily in a hospital setting (IP/OP/OBS), maintaining meticulous attention to detail.
Communicate coding inefficiencies and documentation issues to the coding supervisor, including medical necessity, incomplete documentation, and coding trends.
Utilize coding and payer resources effectively to ensure accurate billing of documented services.
Assist with complex coding denials and appeals, providing necessary documentation for resolution.
Additional Responsibilities:

Engage in ongoing education in coding and billing practices using resources such as Encoder Pro and other CHP-provided tools.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Skills and Qualifications:

Proficient in CPT, HCPCS, & ICD-10 coding practices as per AAPC, AHIMA, and NAMAS guidelines.
Effective verbal and written communication skills in English; additional languages a plus.
Strong customer service and phone etiquette skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and meet productivity standards.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage high-volume workloads.
Proactive problem-solving ability, able to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong desire for continuous learning and improvement.
Credentials and Experience:

High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing and/or coding.
Medical Billing and Coding certifications highly desirable.

Salary: $ 21.00 29.00 Per Hour
