Position Description
The Grants Accountant in CHHS works on a collaborative team to operationalize the strategic direction of the College. Reporting to the CHHS Finance and Grants Manager, this position will provide support to the Deanâ??s Office (to include the Grants Office) to develop grants management systems and procedures. The Grants Accountant will be assigned to specific grants to provide direct support and those grants may be in the Day Health Institute, a CHHS Academic Department, the Deanâ??s Office, or a combination. This position will work with the Office of the Controller and the Office of Sponsored Research and Programs to ensure compliance with funding agencies as well as the Universityâ??s accounting standards.Â
The Grants Accountant will work collaboratively with faculty and staff across the college, the CHHS Grants office, the Deanâ??s office, the Day Health Institute, CHHS Academic Departments, the Office of Sponsored Research and Programs, the Sponsored Projects Accounting and Compliance Office, and the University Advancement office to ensure the smooth management of grants within the College of Health and Human Sciences. Â
Responsibilities
Grants Accounting - 70%
The primary responsibility of the Grants Accountant is to provide direct accounting support to a portfolio of grants, as assigned by the Deanâ??s Office. The Grants Accountant will have in depth involvement on these projects, but will also provide broad accounting support to all CHHS grants.
Strategic Leadership - 20%

Salary for Announcement
Under Colorado law, MSU Denver is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role and should not offer a salary outside of the range posted in this job announcement. This range takes into account a variety of factors including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, analysis of internal equity, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience.Â
This position is subject to grant funding availability. The anticipated hiring range that the University reasonable expects to pay for this position is $58,000 - $64,000.
This position is paid monthly and is eligible for MSU Denver benefits.
