Yoga Journal is the leading authority on yoga and meditation and our mission remains the same as its launch 50 years ago—to help students and teachers better understand how to navigate life through their practice. Our role is to share inspiration and instruction on the practice and philosophy of yoga through the lens of ancient teachings as well as contemporary science. We also further and initiate conversations among the yoga community to ensure the teachings of yoga remain relevant, inclusive, and accessible to everyone.

This role can be 100% remote located in the United States or Canada

Within 1 month, you will: 

• Assign and edit articles for Yoga Journal (reported, first-person, lists, ATT, essays, humor)
• Write articles for Yoga Journal on a daily basis
• Implement SEO best practices for all related stories
• Workshop display copy with team
• Attend weekly pitch meetings 
• Manage contracts and payments for freelancers
• Ideate article ideas based on audience research
• Bring new voices and freelance writers to Yoga Journal
• Build articles for Yoga Journal in CMS
• Participate in product testing
• Research high-performing archive content to share on social
• Fact-check and copy edit content
• Demonstrate ability to adapt and prioritize in a dynamic environment

Within 6 months, you will: 

• Grow Yoga Journal's coverage of the physical practice of yoga
• Grow product testing and reviews 
• Grow roster of regular freelance contributors
• Contribute to social media and email campaigns and strategies

Within 12 months, you will: 

• Manage Yoga Journal's coverage of the physical practice of yoga
• Manage product testing and reviews 
• Manage regular freelance contributors and their budget
• Grow content for audience segments

What YOU bring to Outside: (Preferred Qualifications)

• REQUIRED 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training
• REQUIRED - 1+ year experience teaching yoga 
• REQUIRED - 3+ years working on a digital editorial team with experience writing articles on daily deadlines
• REQUIRED Fact-checking and copyediting experience
• PREFERRED 3+ years experience practicing yoga + meditation
• PREFERRED 300-Hour Yoga Teacher Training
• PREFERRED Fluent in social media strategies and email newsletter campaigns

Entirely remote jobs that could be performed in Colorado: Employees can expect to be paid a salary of between $55,000 - $66,000. Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, Flexible Time Away, sick leave, and more. This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant's location, market data/ranges, an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors
