Type: Temporary Project
Estimated Duration : 12 months with possible extensions
Work Setting: 100% of the time at the Client’s site. No telecommuting or remote work. This is a non-negotiable requirement from the client
Required: • Availability to work 100% of the time at the Client’s site in Tallahassee, FL (required);
• Experience in effective writing and documentation skills.
• Experience working as a SQL developer in SQL Server database administration
• Experience in working in Windows operating systems
• Experience in creating stored procedures
• Experience in supporting SQL Server data replication and validation
• Experience with SQL Server software installation, patching, and upgrading.
• Experience in writing T- SQL, Stored Procedures, Functions, and Database Triggers
• Experience in Tuning SQL and T-SQL queries for performance
• Experience with system installations, migrations and upgrades
• Experience with Windows scripting
• Experience in logical database design and data models
• Experience in monitoring and tuning a database to provide a high availability service
• Experience in maintaining currency on tools, methodologies, and technologies related to data administration
• Experience with data privacy and protection initiatives
• Experience with SQL Server backup/recovery technologies and processes
• Experience with SQL Server Replication practices and processes
• Experience with SQL Server Clusters and Failover methodologies
Preferred: • System/Application/Database development, design and/or administration experience (8-10 years)
• Experience in developing in T-SQL or PL/SQL languages (8-10 years)
• Experience in assisting application/web development teams and business area customers in the design, deployment, and development of solutions (8-10 years)
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
• Provide ongoing maintenance and support for database applications already in production, including implementing necessary modifications.
• Assist in designing database architecture and strategic plans for agency customers to meet evolving needs.
• Develop and implement processes for receiving and distributing data to appropriate internal applications while adhering to Florida state security guidelines.
• Implement authorized changes to existing and newly developed database applications in alignment with agency change management procedures.
• Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, including project timelines, and prepare reports for stakeholders as needed.
• Participate in emergency duties and provide support during incidents, including working beyond normal business hours if required.
• Mentor junior database administrators and work collaboratively within the enterprise database team while following all agency policies and procedures.
