To learn more about our company, please visit Job Summary: The Master Level Automotive Technician is responsible for functioning as a skilled Technician who is able to perform diagnoses and repairs in all areas. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and our manufactures standards.

  • Diagnoses cause of any malfunction and performs repair.
  • Communicates with the parts department to obtain needed parts.
  • Saves and tags parts of the job if under warranty or if requested by the customer.
  • Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.
  • Communicates with the Service Writer immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.
  • Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order.
  • Road tests vehicles when required.
  • Participates in manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools and events.
  • Keeps abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins.
  • Supervises work of any Entry Level Service Technicians as assigned.
  • Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to direct supervisor.
  • Ensures that customers' cars are kept clean. Notifies the Service Advisor immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle.
  • Keeps shop area neat and clean.
  • Maintains and is accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals. Returns them to the proper place and in the same condition as they were received.
  • Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know and other safety requirements.
  • Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
  • Reports any safety issues immediately to management.
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Technical or trade school degree preferred but not required.
  • Toyota experience preferred but not required.
  • Technical aptitude displayed by ASE certification preferred.
  • Must be able to work on and repair multiple makes of vehicles.
  • Must have the ability to operate a wide variety of vehicles, both automatic and manual transmissions.
  • Must have manual dexterity, good judgment and ability to operate power and hand tools and other types of machinery safely and efficiently.
  • Must be able to work successfully on a flat rate pay system.
  • Travel to relevant training courses required.
  • A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record must be maintained for occasional travel requirements and essential job functions.
