Job Description

The Hun School of Princeton seeks a dynamic and creative Assistant Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) for a position beginning in August 2024.

This full-time, ten -month position reports to and works closely with the Director of Equity, Inclusion, and Global Diversity (EIGD). The Assistant Director of DEI plays a pivotal role in advancing our organization's commitment to creating an inclusive and equitable environment for all employees, and supports the development and implementation of strategic initiatives aimed at promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion across all aspects of our School.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Director of EIGD to develop and implement comprehensive DEI programs and initiatives that align with organizational goals and values;
  • Assist in designing and delivering DEI training sessions, workshops, and educational programs for employees at all levels;
  • Contribute to the review and development of policies and procedures to ensure they promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of organizational operations;
  • Support efforts to attract, retain, and promote a diverse workforce by implementing inclusive recruitment strategies and supporting initiatives to foster a positive and inclusive work environment;
  • Collect and analyze data related to diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts to assess progress, identify areas for improvement, and inform decision-making;
  • Foster partnerships with external organizations, community groups, and stakeholders to advance DEI initiatives and promote our organization as a leader in diversity and inclusion;
  • Assist in managing budgetary resources allocated for DEI initiatives, ensuring effective and efficient use of funds;
  • Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior leadership on DEI initiatives, progress, and outcomes;
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and departments to integrate DEI principles into the School's practices and culture;
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging issues related to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and integrate relevant insights into our School's DEI efforts.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree preferred;
  • Minimum of three or more years of professional related experience;
  • A commitment to a diverse and inclusive community;
  • Personal qualities including resilience, approachability, and kindness;
  • A passion for working in an innovative, experiential, and student-centered environment;
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with all members of the community, which includes students, parents, faculty, and staff;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills ;
  • Outstanding technical skills, and an aptitude and willingness for learning new software and systems;
  • Capacity to periodically work beyond and outside the typical workday, which may include evenings and weekends;
  • A desire to contribute to school life on a lively boarding school campus.
